Children at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital receive presents from West Norfolk residents

Young patients at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King's Lynn, enjoyed some early festivities when an avalanche of pressies arrived.

Kind-hearted West Norfolk residents donated the gifts via local radio station KLFM and staff donned Santa suits and delivered the presents to Rudham Ward and the Roxburgh Children's Centre on Wednesday.

A hospital spokesman said: 'At this time of year we much prefer children to spend Christmas at home with their family. For those who have to stay with us the visit by the KLFM team always lifts their spirits and cheers them up enormously.

'We are very, very grateful for the generosity and kind thoughts of all the radio station's listeners. Thank you!'

Among the first recipients during the annual toy run was Alexandra Mlynek aged 20 months, of Wisbech.
