A charity ball organised for the Royal British Legion has raised more than £19,000 for this year's Poppy Appeal.

The event, which took place at the Holiday Inn Norwich North, Hellesdon, was organised by father-of-four Danny Moloney, 46, who spend almost a year organising it.

Lyn Hatch, the RBL's community fundraiser for Norfolk, said: 'The amount raised at this event was fabulous. Our thanks go to Danny for all of his hard work.

'The money raised will go towards the work we do to support serving personnel and their dependents'

Mr Moloney, of Costessey, said: 'The response the event received was phenomenal.

'The event had so much support from different local businesses like Iconic Estate Agents and SSY Guarding, and the Holiday Inn provided a champagne reception free.'
