Rock star Rick Wakeman has officially opened Diss Museum for its new season.

The Yes keyboardist cut the ribbon at the museum at Market Hill at 11am today as about 30 people looked on.

Mr Wakeman lives in nearby Scole and said he was extremely proud and delighted to be invited to open the museum.

The museum has a Cubs 100-year anniversary exhibition, with members of 1st Diss Cub Group attending the opening.

Other new displays include ones on 1960s Doctor Who composer Tristram Cary, the Heritage Triangle and a 1866 royal visit.

Mr Tristram's son John also attended the opening and said the display detailing his father's work was a suitable epitaph to him.
