A MAIN road through Gorleston has been closed by police after a car crashed into a telegraph pole.
Emergency services were called at around 3.50pm today (Thursday) after the car collided with the pole on the A143 Beccles Road.
No other vehicles were involved and paramedics attended to a man who received injuries.
The car has now been recovered but the road remains shut in both directions between the White Horse roundabout and Mallard Way junction while BT engineers repair the pole and make it safe.
Normal traffic is being diverted but HGVs are being allowed through as there is not enough space for them to turn. It is not known when the road will reopen.
