Some Easter celebrations were held to celebrate the re-emergence of Norwich's Riverside area over the weekend.

Following on from the opening of Project nightclub, the re-opening of Hollywood Bowl and the Odeon cinema's new IMAX screen, the area has had new life breathed into it.

Free space-themed family events, craft workshops, face painting, street entertainment and a visit from the Easter Bunny to give out some free chocolate, all kept people entertained and promoted the area's rejuvination.

Robert Warner, creative director for X-Leisure, which owns the Riverside site, said: 'I was there on Saturday and Sunday and there was a great atmosphere down there.

'A lot of the al fresco dining places were absolutely packed so it all went really well.'

The idea of the fun days was to celebrate the area's new lease of life and Mr Warner added that he feels Riverside is now firmly back on track.

He continued: 'We were on the back foot for a while but to have everything fully up and running again is fantastic.

'Now it is all about us re-engaging and reconnecting with our customers and getting new customers in.

'We basically have three new tenants in Project Nightclub, Hollywood Bowl opening again after four years and Odeon opening the only IMAX in the county. To have all that open is great.'
