Firefighters were called to reports of a fire in River Lane Fish Bar, in River Lane, Gaywood, in King's Lynn.

A fire service spokesman said they were called to the incident at around 3.52pm today (Friday, January 5).

Two fire crews, from King's Lynn north and south, attended the scene. They used main and hose reel jets to extinguish the fire and a thermal image was used to ensure no hotspots remained.

A spokesman from River Lane Fish Bar said they will be closed tonight as a result of the fire. He added: 'It was not too bad, it was all under control, nobody is hurt and there is no severe damage.'

A witness in Gaywood Library, in River Lane, added: 'All we could see was smoke coming out of the front door, but it was quickly contained.'
