The chair of an independent review into the treatment of Norfolk's foster carers has said he is expecting a significant number to come forward with their concerns.

The probe into allegations that foster parents have been unfairly treated was launched earlier this month with the former chief executive of Middlesbrough Council, Ian Parker, at the helm.

Mr Parker, 58, is returning to Norfolk County Council after he conducted a smaller-scale review in 2013 which saw just two foster carers coming forward.

However Mr Parker said he has already been contacted by six foster carers since the review was announced and is expecting up to 50 by its completion on May 29.

Cases need to be referred to the review by 29 May.
