Great teamwork and co-ordination have been praised after emergency services assisted a vessel that was taking on water near Horning.
Hemsby Lifeboat’s inshore Broads rescue boat, which covers the Norfolk Broads, was called out on Friday, June 22 to aid the boat, which had got into difficulties.
A spokesman for Hemsby Lifeboat said: “Humber Coastguard paged Hemsby broads rescue (on June 22) to assist a vessel taking on water near Horning.
“When we arrived on scene the Broads Authority boats had water pumps in use.”
With a hole appearing on the vessel, the vessel was taking on water until the hole “was plugged by people onboard.”
The Hemsby Lifeboat spokesman added: “The boat was then escorted back to Richardson’s boatyard, Horning to be lifted out of the water. Bacton Coastguards were also on scene to help – great teamwork and great co-ordination from Humber Coastguard.”
