There was frustration for commuters this morning after a replacement bus service put on due to a faulty train, got stuck under a bridge in Acle.
The replacement bus service was put in place for the 8.09 Greater Anglia Norwich to Great Yarmouth service following a fault with the train.
The First bus service took a wrong turn and hit the railway bridge on Reedham Road, in Acle at 8.45am.
It caused delays for motorists as the police attended the scene and stopped traffic, while the bus was moved out of the way.
The bus was found to have slight damage to its roof, but no passengers on-board were injured.
Engineers also visited to check on the bridge, and found that there was no structural damage.
The road has now been cleared up and traffic is normal.
A spokesperson for Greater Anglia, has said that services are running again today on the Norwich to Yarmouth line, but that Network Rail engineers were called out as a result of the bus being stuck under the railway bridge, and this caused disruption for passengers this morning.
