Lee Daly, of Maidstone Road, said he visits the petrol station and supermarket on Albion Road regularly each week.

And on Monday at around 5pm he had finished his shopping and driven around the site to fill up his car, which he drives on a B1 driving licence.

He claimed there was an attendant sitting on a chair in the middle of the forecourt, whose behaviour after he had pulled into a pump was 'completely uncalled for'. I have never usually had any problems there,' he said. 'I pulled into the last pump and there was a cone there but it wasn't in the way.'

He said the machine read 'take fuel and pay at pump', but the attendant approached him after he pulled in.

'This guy walked over, said something and walked off, but I didn't know what he said,' Mr Daly explained. 'He just sat back down on his chair in the middle of the forecourt.

'I called out to him that I didn't hear him. He blanked me. I got out and asked, is there a problem with the pump? 'He shouted 'it's not working', came over and started becoming aggressive and abusive through the car window.'

Mr Daly said he left the forecourt, and the next day reported the incident to Morrisons head office. They soon rang back and informed him that because of the incident he was not allowed to return.

'I would not want to go back to the petrol station because of what happened,' he said.

Mr Daly admitted he 'gave him back as much as he gave me'.

'My reaction was in response to him speaking to me in an aggressive way,' he said.

'It might be because I drive a three-wheeler, I often get some abuse and people laugh at it.'

Mr Daly added he had been diagnosed with psychosis and anxiety six years ago.

A spokeswoman for Morrisons said the company had since taken witness statements from their employees who were present at the time of the incident, and concluded Mr Daly had been behaving in an 'anti-social manner'.

They added they have a 'zero tolerance' approach to anti-social behaviour, so he was banned.
