Three princesses, two grimms, a witch and a unicorn called 'Leonard' are among the cast members in a pantomime to be performed next month.
Rehearsals are under way as Downham Amateur Dramatics Society (DADS) prepares for its forthcoming production of 'Sleeping Beauties', the group's own take on the popular fairytale.
Director Tom Tree, who has also written the show's script, said: 'I've made the pantomime as original as possible and felt this was an opportunity to make the production our own.
'While it offers traditional panto elements that the children will love, there are also some adult jokes thrown in that will go over their heads.'
The audience will be introduced to characters as soon as they arrive, with the 'Brothers Grimm's Shop' offering goodies before the curtain rises and during the interval.
Dressing up is also being encouraged with prizes awarded to the best dressed princesses or fairy tale characters.
Sleeping Beauties is at Downham Market Town Hall on January 15 and 16 at 7.30pm., with matinées on January 16 and 17 at 2.30pm. Tickets available from Lewks or www.dadsdrama.org.uk. Adults £8; children £4.50; family ticket (two adults, two children) £20.
