A top team from Reepham High School battled its way through to the final of a national University Challenge-style quiz competition.
The group, made of up of year seven and eight students Scott Cameron, Madeline Rounce, Robert Allen and Harris Wright, had beaten Royal Colchester Grammar School in the semi-final of the Junior Schools Challenge Quiz.
They had to answer questions including who came fourth in the London mayoral elections, who slayed the Minotaur in his labyrinth and which four countries share a land border with Greece.
However, their bid to become the first state school to win the competition since King Lynn's King Edward VII School in 1994 was eventually brough to an end by The Perse School from Cambridge.
