A recycling event will be returning to a Norfolk village after it proved to be a success.

South Norfolk Council's reuse event will return to Hethersett Village Hall on Monday, August 13.

Residents can recycle and reuse unwanted textiles, furniture, books, board games, televisions and small electrical items.

Items can be dropped off between 9am and 3pm, and if they pass on site safety checks, taken away for reuse between 11am and 3pm.

All electrical items which are brought to the event will be safety tested and then made available for local residents to collect. Any materials which are broken or unsafe will be recycled and there is an optional donation to charity. All items not taken away are donated to charity.

With events like this South Norfolk Council has recycled more than 14,300 items, reused 9,000 and saved over 150 tonnes of materials from going to landfill.
