Guest houses, B&Bs, hotels, holiday parks and apartments were presented with achievement awards at the 18th annual tourism lunch last week.
The grading achievement certificates are awarded in recognition of the commitment to 'Raising the Standard' in Greater Yarmouth through the adoption of a national star rating, and guests at the Assembly Room lunch were told the scheme was as important today as it was when launched in 1998.
It is supported by VisitEngland and the AA and ratings are determined by the services and facilities provided for guests, and also for the quality of welcome, service and hospitality of staff, the food and cleanliness.
