A supermarket has banned all children wearing North Walsham High School uniform from entering its store.

Sainsbury's in North Walsham made the decision following several incidents of shoplifting by pupils this week.

The School's head teacher, Neil Powell said it was a 'very short-term measure' which would last for no more than 10 days.

Carrie Louise wrote: 'Do they not have CCTV? Name and shame the culprits in assembly, don't agree with punishing the whole school.'

Dave Leak added: 'I'd be worried that parents are sending their kids to a school where the head teacher thinks it's totally right and a great idea to ban an entire school from a shop because of the alleged acts of a minority.'

Not everyone was in disagreement though.

Gemma Compton commented: 'Only banning them when in uniform, I don't see the problem with this. They should be at school not shopping anyway when in uniform!'

While Gill Patten posted: 'Peer pressure when you do whole school punishments is far more effective than simply punishing the culprit.'
