Organisers behind a much anticipated scare attraction have vowed to infuse even more excitement, terror and thrills, after its launch was met with mixed reaction.

It comes following the opening night of the Loco Horror Train on the Mid-Norfolk Railway, in Dereham, which attracted both praise and criticism.

A total of 600 people boarded the train for the fright of their life and many were quick to share their experiences on social media.

And while many praised the efforts of the inaugural event to the heritage railway, others claimed not to be as impressed.

But the organisers behind the attraction have been quick to reassure people that the one-of-a-kind event was something not to be missed.

A spokesman from Loco UK said: 'The majority of customers riding our Horror Train on the opening night were thoroughly entertained. Some constructive feedback has suggested improvements in areas such as the welcome marquee and lighting tweaks. We have already made changes to our production to incorporate these suggestions for the rest of the run.

'We are confident that the Loco Horror Train will be an annual attraction locally.'

And while some people branded the event 'boring', 'a waste of money' and 'confusing', more than 100 customers are already on a waiting list for the 2019 ticket release.

Adam Flello, 39, is one of those who requested a refund after attending with a group of six work colleagues. They travelled from Poringland and Wymondham and paid £27 each for tickets.

He said: 'It was the most boring, least scary thing I have ever done. Over priced and dull. A night out wasted.'

But others quickly jumped to its defence.

Quin Gomes shared his experience on the Loco Horror Train's Facebook event and reminded people that this was the first of its kind to come to the UK.

He said: 'It's fun, it's entertaining, innovative... But of course with something this new, it always requires constructive feedback so they can look back and see what worked and what didn't.'

Sarah Williams added: 'I liked it. Good actors, suspense, interesting story, scary dark locations. Could have done more, but I enjoyed the show.'

While Shay Taylor urged people attending to put their experiences 'into perspective'.

'Honestly what was you all expecting?

'It's a new thing for Norfolk and it is unique.

'It wasn't awful but it wasn't the best. It was fun and a great night out with friends. I will definitely go back next year.'

Organisers are encouraging people to share feedback to improve on their almost sold-out run by visiting the website www.horrortrain.co.uk/feedback.
