LORNA MARSH

Police today renewed their appeal for witnesses to an armed robbery at one of the region's best known jeweller's in which a member of staff was attacked.

The gang, armed with a claw hammer and what is believed to be an imitation gun, targeted Winsor Bishop in Norwich threatening violence and demanding items of jewellery.

A male member of staff was hit around the head but the gang left empty handed after he chased the men out of the London Street shop towards Habitat.

The three offenders were all described as white and aged between 25 and 35. One wore a blue baseball cap and sunglasses with a light blue long sleeve shirt tucked in at the waist, jeans and black trainers with a white stripe on the sides. He was carrying a black bag with a shoulder strap.

The second wore a blue sunhat with a rim all the way round and large oval shaped sunglasses, a white long sleeve shirt untucked at the waist and sand coloured combat style trousers.

The final man wore a white long sleeve shirt untucked with a dark wide brimmed hat and green khaki style trousers.

Julie Moule, spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary, said: “It was a very hot day on Friday and we hope that someone will remember seeing three men in long sleeved shirts.

“The city centre would have been busy with shoppers at this time on a Friday afternoon and we would appeal for anyone who saw the chase along London Street or a group of three males before or after the incident to contact us.”.”
