The Royal Air Forces Association is appealing to caring and compassionate Sheringham folk to join its team of welfare volunteers.

The charity, which supports current and former RAF personnel and their families, provides nationally accredited training to its volunteers, who visit people in their own homes to chat, or help with form-filling or signposting to other support organisations.

RAF Association volunteer manager Katherine Lord said being a volunteer helped develop teamwork and research skills, as well as giving people a sense of wellbeing from helping others.

Hours are flexible, no experience is needed and those applying do not need to have links to the RAF, but prospective welfare volunteers should be aged 18 or over and be able to demonstrate the required motivation and skills.
