Prime minister David Cameron has announced that the Harrier jumpjet would be retired, meaning the Tornado force, which is based at RAF Marham in West Norfolk and RAF Lossiemouth in Scotland, would continue to operate.

No time scale has been set for a decision and whichever base does close would be used to house Army troops returning from bases in Germany.
