RAF Honington hosts the finals of the Working Dog Trials

For three days dogs and their handlers from across the UK competed against each other for the accolade of becoming Best in Trade.

This annual event is where handlers demonstrate their ability while promoting the core ethos to exceptionally high standards

The trials are a combination of training, testing and evaluation by the Provost Marshal's Dog Inspectors.

Only eight patrol dogs and their handlers got to compete at the national finals.

The winner was Corporal Chris Nicholls with his dog Jittie, stationed at RAF Northolt. Corporal Dan Harm with his dog Sjef from RAF Coningsby were runners-up with Corporal Mark Rogers and dog Britt from RAF Waddington taking third place.

Corporal Nicholls said: 'I am so overwhelmed and incredibly proud of Jittie. We have worked hard for this and I can't stop smiling.' He added: 'Jittie definitely deserves an ice cream and lots of cuddles'.
