RAF Lakenheath has reassured the public that traffic safety is a priority, following the death of British teenager outside a US airbase.

Harry Dunn, 19, was killed outside of RAF Croughton, in Northamptonshire, on August 27, when his motorbike was in collision with a car believed to have been driving on the wrong side of the road.

Anne Sacoolas, a US intelligence official's wife, has been accused of involvement in the fatal accident but fled to the United States under diplomatic immunity.

RAF Croughton has since introduced signs reminding US drivers to keep to the left.

Sybil Taunton, chief of public affairs at the US airbase RAF Lakenheath, said: "Traffic safety is always a top priority and US visiting forces comply with the training requirements and protocols outlined in host nation agreements and in accordance with UK laws."
