Royal watchers were alarmed when the Queen failed to arrive as scheduled at King's Lynn train station today, ahead of the Royal Family's traditional gathering at Sandringham House, but it has emerged she had a heavy cold.
A spokesman for Buckingham Palace said: 'The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh have heavy colds, and so have decided not to travel to Sandringham today.'
