A homeless charity threw a Christmas bash for its clients, and for some of the 100 people who attended it will be the only Christmas they'll have this year.
In a bid to ensure nobody misses out this Christmas, The Purfleet Trust, in King's Lynn, put together a dinner party for their clients. In a scene most of us are familiar with, the staff and volunteers were busying themselves in the kitchen and decorating the 13 tables for the party.
The King's Centre, in Wellesley Street, was awash with tinsel, Christmas crackers and festive props, with a selfie station for those wanting to take festive snaps.
Final touches added to the merriment of the occasion, with guests dazzled by the brightly lit eight-foot Christmas tree.
Sarah Castleton, 53, and her partner Martin Brennan, 51, of George Street, receive weekly support from the charity in the last four years.
Ms Castleton added: 'They have supported me through thick and thin, I lost my house but they regained it.
'We go in four times a week and they help us with donations and also Christmas decorations.
'I've been to this Christmas party before and it is absolutely amazing.'
Guests were treated to a traditional turkey lunch with all the trimmings, capped off with a dessert of mince pies and cheesecake.
Every guest also went away with a gift, with some winning a prize on the raffle.
Among them was West Norfolk mayor Carol Bower, who had chosen the Trust as her charity of the year.
She said: 'There is a real buzz and excitement and the aroma coming from the kitchen is so yummy.
'This is my first opportunity to meet so many of the charity's clients and helpers. This time of the year is about being together.'
Chief executive of the Purfleet Trust, Paula Hall, said the party would not have been possible without the rallying support of the community and businesses in West Norfolk.
This includes Buckingham Emergency Food Appeal (BEFA), Sainsbury's, Bookers, Tesco, Accent Fresh and many more.
Ms Hall added: 'We have had lots of support from the whole community and we have got incredible volunteers.'
