Pub landlord in court on murder charge

A Wisbech pub landlord was remanded in custody today when he appeared at Cambridge Crown Court charged with murder.

Steven French, 49, who ran the Wisbech Arms pub, in Exchange Square is charged with the murder of builder Christopher Garford.

Steven French, 49, who ran the Wisbech Arms pub, in Exchange Square is charged with the murder of builder Christopher Garford.

Mr Garford, also 49 and from Wisbech, died of multiple stab wounds outside the pub on Saturday, June 3.

Joanna Gonsalves, 28, of Church Lane, Tydd St Giles also appeared in court, charged with perverting the course of justice and assisting an offender.

Both were remanded in custody and are due to appear in court on September 25.
