Power cut hits more than 1,400 homes in villages on edge of Norwich

More than 1,400 homes in villages on the edge of Norwich lost power for a spell this morning.
UK Power Networks said that a fault on overhead power lines briefly left 1,459 homes in Horsford, Thorpe Marriott and Taverham without electricity.
A spokeswoman for UK Power Networks said: 'Our engineers quickly and safely restored electricity to 1459 customers in the Horsford area this morning after a fault on an overhead power lines interrupted power supplies at 6.52am.
'Engineers restored power in stages between 6.54am and 7.12am. We would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused.'
