The body of a woman found along a popular walking and cycling route in Norwich is to undergo a post-mortem examination today.
Police discovered the body on Wednesday afternoon in a small section of woodland on Marriott’s Way, near to Bridge Street and Barker Street.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
A police spokesman said a Home Office post-mortem examination is due to take place this afternoon (Friday, February 2).
A seal remains in place around the scene, which is known locally as “Train Wood”, and is located behind the Go Outdoors store.
One man, who did not wish to be named, said the woodland is regularly used by people “unofficially camping” in the area.
Next to the cordon are the remains of several tents.
Police said the body was found on Wednesday, January 31 shortly before 4.30pm.
