Porkstock, Norfolk's award-winning family food event, has announced that for the second year in a row, all profits from the festival will be donated to children's charity, Nelson's Journey.

Last year's Porkstock raised £10,000 for the organisation and the money went towards funding the salary of a support worker for children whose lives have been turned upside down following the loss of a loved one. This year organisers expect to raise even more.

Taking place on Saturday October 14, Porkstock has moved to the Norfolk Showground for the first time. Woodforde's Brewery and Cranswick Country Foods have just been announced as joint headline sponsors, while Norwich solicitors, Hatch Brenner, are also a key sponsor for the 2017 event.

Holly Drew, marketing manager for Woodforde's Brewery, said: 'We're delighted to support this fantastic event as headline sponsor. Porkstock is fast becoming a firm favourite with families and foodies throughout Norfolk, and we're really excited to watch it grow in its new location.'

Cranswick Country Foods is also joining for the first time this year. The company's HR manager Sam Smith said: 'We're proud to be part of Porkstock's celebration of Norfolk's great produce. With this event originating from the love of all things pork, we felt compelled to join the fun and share our passion for locally produced, quality pork.'

Dawn Parkes, Hatch Brenner Managing Partner, explained why the firm got involved. 'We are very excited to be sponsoring Porkstock this year and, as such, to champion the wonderful local produce and producers of our region.'

Simon Wright, chief executive of Nelson's Journey said the money raised at last year's event had helped at a crucial time. 'In the last year, we've seen a huge growth in demand for our services. The £10,000 raised has contributed to the salary of a support worker over a six month period, allowing us to support an even greater number of bereaved children in Norfolk.' James Ellis, one of the founders of Porkstock said; 'As a non-profit event, the support of business sponsors is crucial. And we're really grateful that Woodforde's, Cranswick Country Foods and Hatch Brenner are involved for the first time.'
