A Poringland Primary School and Nursery pupil has been named as the regional winner of a national poetry competition.
Lauren, aged seven, has been named as the East of England regional winner of the Premier League Writing Stars poetry competition.
Premier League Writing Stars saw more than 25,000 children, aged between five and 11, across England and Wales submit original works of poetry themed around the value of resilience – and Lauren's poem was picked as a winner by the competition's all-star judging panel, which includes former professional footballer Frank Lampard OBE, Premier League player Yannick Bolasie, Children's Laureate Lauren Child and young people's laureate for London Caleb Femi.
Lauren will now be presented with a framed version of her poem by her school teacher – and read her poem aloud to her schoolmates earlier this week.
