Swimming pool staff in North Walsham rushed to the aid of a woman who suffered a heart attack while bathing yesterday morning, Wednesday July 13.
The 74-year-old was removed from the water at the town's Victory Swim and Fitness Centre by a lifeguard and given CPR - cardiopulmonary resuscitation - according to an ambulance service spokesman.
Another member of staff then used a defibrillator on the collapsed bather, to which she responded. Paramedics arrived on scene shortly afterwards and the woman was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital where her condition is unknown.
