Fifteen years ago this week a departing store owner raised fears about Norwich losing its identity to multi-national chain stores.
Jonathan Butcher, joint managing director of Butcher's Department Store, in Swan Lane, made the grim prediction ahead of his shop's closure in 2002.
Now, with four independent businesses announcing their closure this month, we want to know your thoughts.
