Yvette Cooper will be the latest leadership hopeful to pitch up in Norwich to scoop up undecided voters in her quest take the Labour Party top job.

Party members and anybody who is interested in the contest have been invited to hear the shadow home secretary speak at the Lansdowne Hotel on Thorpe Road tomorrow night.

It comes weeks after bookmakers' favourite Jeremy Corbyn packed out the Open venue in Norwich when almost 1,000 people turned out.

Dan Swain, who is running Ms Cooper's campaign in the East of England, said that about 100 people were expected to turn up tonight's question and answer event.

'There are a lot of members in Norwich and around the area, including on the Norfolk coast.

'We are trying to speak to as many members as possible.

'We are finding that quite a lot of people have still not voted. They are holding onto their ballot papers and they have not made up their minds. We are not going to stop campaigning. We are going right until the finish.'

He said that Mr Corbyn's rally had been advertised for longer that tomorrow's event and he was seen as a 'spectacle' because of all his coverage in the news.

'A lot of people were showing up, but we do not think it is indicative of the support. Many people there were undecided and left undecided.

'It was a spectacle because he has been in the news.

'We are packing out rooms as well.'

Ms Cooper is not a stranger to the area. Her husband, former shadow chancellor Ed Balls, still has family living in the city and is an avid Norwich City Football Club supporter.

The Yvette Cooper question and answer event in Norwich will be held between 6pm and 7.30pm at the Lansdowne Hotel on Thorpe Road, in Norwich.
