A pre-school and nursery owner has been elected as Attleborough’s new town mayor.

Vera Dale was voted for unanimously by Attleborough Town Council on Monday, May 14.

Roger Bond replaced Mrs Dale as the deputy town mayor.

Mrs Dale, who held the title between 2008 and 2011, thanked outgoing mayor Councillor Jeremy Burton for his service.

She said: “Attleborough is a growing town and with the neighbourhood development plan being passed we have a clear path to follow for improving the facilities for the future.

“Car parking and open space is always an issue, both of these have been addressed in the plan alongside the development of a linear park.

“I am looking forward to working with my fellow councillors for the next municipal year.”

Mrs Dale is owner of Pavillion Pre-School Nursery in Attleborough.
