Plans to build 110 new homes on a chicken farm have been put on hold while developers hold meetings with council planners.
The application, submitted by Crown Chicken Ltd, sought permission to build more than 100 new dwellings on Crown Farm in Weybread, on the Norfolk-Suffolk border near Harleston, incorporating both brownfield and greenfield sites.
However the proposals are now on hold after being withdrawn ahead of being discussed by Mid Suffolk Council's development control committee with the applicants requesting another meeting with planning officers before the issue is debated.
The plans, which included converting a vacant pub into a community space with a café and day nursery, had been recommended for refusal by planners on the grounds there is not 'appropriate infrastructure' to cater for added pressures on local primary schools, roads and other services.
The council has already granted permission for the current chicken factory to be relocated to Eye Airfield, with all employees transferred to the new location.
