Members of the Broads Authority have elected the committee's new chairman.
Haydn Thirtle, who previously served as vice chairman of the committee, was chosen by members over fellow nominee Lana Hempsall.
In a closed ballot, Mr Thirtle was elected to the role by 12 votes to Mrs Hempsall’s nine.
Mr Thirtle, who is also a county councillor, takes on the role from Jacquie Burgess, who made the decision to step down earlier this year having held the role since 2015.
He said: “I hope I can do the role justice and help drive the Broads Authority forward in the correct manner.”
Prof Burgess, who is remaining a committee member, said it had been an “absolute privilege” to chair the authority.
Meanwhile, Bill Dickson was elected the new vice-chairman of the committee. He also defeated Mrs Hempsall in a closed vote, with members voting 11 votes to eight in his favour.
