Following a tumultuous 48 hours at Westminster, Jeremy Hunt has been named the new Foreign Secretary.
Mr Hunt takes over from Boris Johnson, who made his shock resignation announcement this afternoon.
Mr Johnson criticised Mrs May’s Brexit plans in his speech, saying they would leave the UK a “colony” of the European Union.
He followed in the footsteps of David Davis, who announced his resignation late on Sunday night.
Brexit minister Steve Baker also left the Government, while Chris Green quit his position as an unpaid parliamentary aide at the Department for Transport.
Replacing Mr Hunt as Health Secretary will be West Suffolk Member of Parliament Matt Hancock, previously the Secretary for Culture.
Mr Hancock took to twitter to react to the news, writing: “Really looking forward to joining @DHSCgovuk (Department of Health and Social Care) at such an important time for our great NHS. I can’t wait to get started.”
