The Tories held onto South West Norfolk with more than double the number of votes than Labour.
Conservative Elizabeth Truss - the justice secretary - gained 32,894 votes, with Labour's Peter Smith gaining 14,582.
Mrs Truss attended the count for 20 minutes but went home as she had been taken ill due to a virus, confirmed the party's election agent Ian Sherwood.
Mr Smith said: 'This has been the most exciting campaign, I think we have the most extraordinary leadership.
'You always have hope, you wouldn't be doing this unless you believed in what you're passionate for. It's still stacked against you.'
Liberal Democrat candidate Stephen Gordon was also not present at the count due to illness. He received 2,365 votes and UKIP's David Williams 2,575 votes.
The turnout at this year's election has gone up to 68pc compared to 65.1pc in 2015.
