The leadership of a town council has changed hands for the second time in months.

Council leader and mayor of Diss Trevor Wenman has handed the baton to councillor Simon Olander, months after former council leader Julian Mason stood down in early December last year.

Mr Olander had previously been chosen as deputy leader in January, at the same that councillor Sonia Brown became deputy mayor.

At a Diss Town Council meeting on Wednesday, February 22, a report was made by clerk Sarah Richards. She said: 'Councillors Olander and Wenman had a series of discussions since the last full council meeting and in conjunction with me, have reached the joint conclusion that it would be clearer for all to pass the role of leader fully to Councillor Olander from this meeting.'

Mr Olander's role is temporary and will last until the May elections.
