New 'Welcome to Cromer' signs now greet visitors to the north Norfolk seaside town.
The cost was met by the Walkers are Welcome community initiative and Cromer Town Council.
Janet Warner, the council's deputy town clerk, said: "The old signs were very faded, non-reflective and the lettering did not meet highway standards.
"Enquiries were made as to whether they could be renovated but it was not feasible. Cromer Town Council agreed to replace all four signs on the main entrance roads into Cromer and Walkers are Welcome very kindly offered to share the cost.
"The new signs are reflective, and of a very similar design to the originals with the lettering now meeting standards."
Barry Meadows said: "The old signs had faded with long use and have been retired, to be replaced by these new high-visibility signs, which will give our visitors a bright, shiny welcome to Cromer well into the future."
