Have your say on vision for town’s neighbourhood plan

There’s still time for people to have a final say on a vision for the future development of Beccles.
For the past three years, the Beccles Neighbourhood Plan operational group has received numerous comments and feedback from individuals, organisations and businesses about their priorities for the town.
After consulting residents about what they felt were the most important challenges facing the town, a draft neighbourhood plan vision has been produced.
And with the group reaching an important stage in writing the Beccles Neighbourhood Plan - known as the pre-submission consultation - Elfrede Brambley-Crawshaw, chairman of the Operational Group, said: "After many years of hard work engaging with our community in various locations around the town, we have now produced a draft vision which will guide the development of our town for many years to come.
"We are now required to consult statutory bodies, local organisations and the wider community for a period of six weeks before the plan is submitted to East Suffolk Council.
"This consultation starts on June 7 and closes on July 19".

Andrea Downes, mayor of Beccles, said "The Neighbourhood Plan is a very important document as it sets out clear planning policies in order to realise the community's vision for the town.
"It will provide guidance to anybody wishing to submit planning applications for development and will have legal status that will need to be taken into consideration by East Suffolk Council when making planning decisions."
The plan covers issues such as highways improvements, tourist facilities, public transport, heritage and housing design.
It can be viewed online at becclesplan.com which lists details of locations where hard copies can be viewed.
Feedback and comments can be emailed to email@example.com or written responses can be sent to Beccles Neighbourhood Plan, Beccles Town Council, Town Hall, The Walk, Beccles NR34 9AJ.
Please ensure you submit your responses by noon on July 19.
Following this pre-submission consultation, the Neighbourhood Plan will be submitted to East Suffolk Council who will check that it meets legal requirements and arrange for it to be reviewed by an Independent Examiner.
Once this has been completed Beccles residents will be asked to vote to accept the plan in a referendum.
