Revised plans to build 43 affordable homes in a north Norfolk town, submitted by Victory Housing Trust, are recommended for approval by councillors.

The application comes after a reconsultation was held into amended plans for the site in Laundry Loke, North Walsham.

The proposal is to redevelop the derelict/vacant former laundry site at the southern end of Laundry Loke, and land to the west which is currently a small area of overgrown woodland.

The site has been enclosed with chain-link fencing for some years and has attracted anti-social behaviour. Fly-tipping on the site was the subject of planning enforcement action to tidy it up.

Thirteen letters of representation were received from eight separate persons and businesses. They were generally supportive to the re-use of the site, but a number of concerns were raised.

The plans will be discussed by North Norfolk District Council's development committee next Thursday, November 1.
