Vandalism and anti-social behaviour are among the priorities for police in Hunstanton and the Burnhams after a meeting with residents last night.

The Hunstanton and Burnham Safer Neighbourhood Team will take action to tackle criminal damage in Hunstanton after residents identified a growing problem of vandalism to vehicles and homes in the area bordered by Waveney Road, Park Road, Southend Road and Oasis Way.

Since the beginning of August, there have been 16 incidents where cars or houses have been damaged in the area.

In Heacham, police will be focussing on vandalism to homes and fencing in the area near Gidney Drive to Jennings Close, while the team will continue to target youths causing anti-social behaviour in Burnham Market.

At last night's meeting, police said the young person responsible for causing criminal damage to the School Henge structure at Burnham Market Primary School had come forward and was now being dealt with.

Surgeries are due to be held at Heacham Parish Council offices, 10am to noon on Wednesday, October 8; Burnham Market village hall, 10am to noon on Wednesday, October 15; and Docking Village Hall, 10am to noon on Wednesday, November 5.
