Police officer treated in hospital after alleged assault in Dereham

A police officer has been injured following an alleged assault, the police have said.

In a tweet posted at 9.10pm on Sunday, Breckland police said: 'Another officer assaulted while arresting a drunk male, this time in Dereham. Never acceptable #joblikenoother'.

The officer was taken to hospital, but Breckland police later said they had been released, and had not suffered serious injuries.
