Police name Wisbech fire victim

Police this morning named a man whose body was discovered lying in a burnt-out van in Wisbech.

Danius Kigas , a 35-year-old Lithuanian national, was found dead in a blue Renault Trafic shortly before 3am on Saturday evening.

Danius Kigas , a 35-year-old Lithuanian national, was found dead in a blue Renault Trafic shortly before 3am on Saturday evening.

Police have now renewed their appeal for witnesses after a post mortem examination on his body proved inconclusive.

A Cambridgeshire police spokesman said: "We would like to reiterate out appeal for information from anybody who may have seen this blue van in or around Wisbech on Friday, June 2.

"We need as much information as possible to help us establish what happened in the hours leading up to Mr Kigas' death.

"If you saw this van or believe you have any other information please call."

A 42-year-old Wisbech man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday night before being released on police bail until July 4.

The blue van was discovered in Turnpike Court, off Norwich Road.
