Police are trying to establish what led to a man being found leaning against a lamp-post with a head injury in Lowestoft late yesterday evening.

Officers were called to Normanston Drive, near the roundabout with Peto Way, at 8.07pm to find a man who was bleeding from the head.

The man was conscious, breathing and walking and was taken to the James Paget University Hospital in Gorleston, for treatment for what is thought to be a fractured nose.

Police treated the incident as a crime scene and arrived to investigate to take photos of the scene - but a spokesman from Suffolk Police said it was not yet known how the man had come to be injured.

Anyone with information should call Suffolk Police on 101.
