A man has been sighted stealing meat and cheese from a number of shops in the Great Yarmouth area before making off with it in his green Ford Mondeo.

Police are hunting the thief following a series of shoplifting incidents in the borough.

Officers say the man took a quantity of cheese from a shop on Bell Lane in Belton between 2.45pm and 2.50pm on Wednesday, November 2.

Then at around 3.10pm he left a store on Lowestoft Road in Hopton with a quantity of meat.

On Thursday, November 3 the man stole meat and chocolate from a shop on Magdalen Way in Gorleston at around 2.40pm.

He then took food and washing items from a store on Brasenose Avenue in Gorleston between 2.40pm and 2.50pm.

The man is described as white with dark brown hair and was wearing a red t-shirt and a beige sheepskin jacket.

He was carrying a Lidl carrier bag.

Officers want to speak to anyone who may have witnessed any of these thefts or may recognise the man.
