POLICE need to trace a man who approached a 15-year-old girl close to a Lowestoft primary school yesterday (Sunday).

The teenager was walking to a friends house and was in Love Road, close to Roman Hill primary school, about 10.50am to 11am on Sunday when the man emerged from an alleyway at the side of the school grounds and engaged her in conversation.

He asked her a series of questions, including where she lived. The man kept talking to her until the girl explained that she had to meet a friend and walked away from him.

The man is white, about 5ft 10ins tall, aged in his late 30s to 40s, of medium build, with short greyish brown hair and with a south east/London accent. He was wearing a red and black waterproof jacket and said his name was John. There may be an innocent explanation for the incident but police need to speak to the man involved and are asking him, or anyone who knows who he is, to come forward.

• Information to Sgt 1459 Siggins at Lowestoft police on 101.
