Police are appealing for witnesses following after a car ended up in a ditch on the A47 near Acle.

It happened on Saturday, July 9, at about 10.15am on the Acle Straight near the Halvergate turning.

A grey Toyota Corolla travelling towards Great Yarmouth left the roadside coming to rest in a water-filled ditch.

The driver and passenger, both ages in their 70s, suffered injuries and were taken to the James Paget University Hospital for treatment but have since been discharged.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and was re-opened at 12.25pm.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has information concerning the driving manner of the vehicle prior to the incident.
