A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape following an incident in Lowestoft.
Police were called to Marine Parade just before 2pm yesterday (Thursday, March 30), after a member of the public reported a woman had just left a flat there in a distressed state and told him she had been raped.
Officers attended and the 23-year-old man, from Lowestoft, was arrested a short time later. He remains in custody where he will be interviewed in connection with the incident.
Police have been working with the woman, in her 30s, to get an account of what happened and enquiries are continuing.
