A man has been seriously injured following a road collision on the B1146 in Scarning yesterday morning.
It happened around 11.20am when a blue Ford KA, travelling along Dereham Road in the direction of Scarning, and a cyclist, travelling in the same direction, crashed.
The man, aged in his 70s, sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Addenbrooke's Hospital for treatment, where he remains in a critical condition.
The road was blocked whilst emergency services attended and re-opened shortly after 2pm.
Officers are keen to hear from any witnesses to the incident, in particular a female nurse who assisted the cyclist, but left prior to police arrival.
Anyone who has information concerning the driving manner of the vehicle or actions of the cyclist prior to the collision are asked to contact PC Wendy Frary at Wymondham Roads Policing on 101.
