A teenager needed hospital treatment after a fight between a large group of youths in Dereham.

Police were called to the Morrison's car park, Station Road, just after 10pm on Saturday to reports of public disorder involving male and females aged between 15 and 18.

When officers arrived at the scene an 18-year-old male was found to have suffered injuries as a result of being assaulted.

He was taken to the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.

Three male youths, all local, were arrested close to the scene on suspicion of assault and later released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and urging those present at the scene to come forward before they are contacted by police.

It is understood that many of those present were from either the Dereham or Fakenham areas.
